My work is a way of expressing gratitude. In this way, I take something I love and translate it into points of color and light. I am forever giving thanks for the gift of sight. My love of color is a symphony, each stroke of gesture claiming its own personality and vibration. As the hues collide with light and shadow I strive to find balance and harmony in my compositions and to offer the same to the viewer as a momentary respite — a breath of fresh air, if you will, from this ever challenging world we all inhabit. Like Alice Through the Looking Glass, the mediums of pastel, painting, wax, and mixed media serve as the vehicle to carry me to my next destination.
My entire life I've been connected to animals and have been involved in animal rescue, both in the US and Mexico. My work is a way of expressing gratitude for them. A portion of your purchase will be donated to ongoing rescue efforts. See my Facebook page for Rescue San Miguel: facebook.com/RescueSanMiguel

Tap Dancing on a Hot Skillet
In this coming of age story about growing up Jewish in a family of six in the Deep South of the 1950s and ’60s, Gabrielle brings the characters to life with a keen sense of visual detail, southern wit, and an authentic adolescent voice. Using a combination of personal stories set against a backdrop of cultural context—the Civil Rights Movement, the Vietnam War, and pop culture references of films and music (from Elvis to the Beatles)—Gabrielle creates a scaffolding by which to hang the evolving angst of the ’60s contrasted with the naiveté of the ’50s told through the eyes of a young person caught at the center.
